How It Works

How Getting Care Works

Three clear steps from your first call to your first visit. No pressure, no jargon, and you'll know what care costs before it starts.

  1. Step 1

    Talk With Us

Call us or book a free consultation online. We'll ask about your family member's health, daily routine, home and what worries you most. There's no cost and no obligation.

    • Tell us what's happening in your own words
    • Ask anything, including what care will cost
    • Get an honest opinion on whether home care is the right fit
  2. Step 2

    Build Your Care Plan

We put together a care plan built around your family member: which services, how many hours, which days and times, and what it will cost. You'll know the plan and the price before anything starts.

    • Care built around their routine and preferences
    • Clear schedule and clear pricing
    • Easy to change as needs change
  3. Step 3

    Meet Your Caregiver

We match a caregiver to your family member's needs, personality and schedule, and introduce them before the first visit. After care starts, we check in to make sure it's working, and we adjust if it isn't.

    • A caregiver chosen for the person, not just the shift
    • The same caregiver or small team wherever possible
    • Regular check-ins with your family

Helpful to have ready when you call

You don't need all of this. If you're not sure, call (226) 506-7013 anyway and we'll work through it together.

  • Your family member's main health conditions and any recent changes
  • The help they need now, and at which times of day
  • Any upcoming hospital discharge or appointments
  • What they enjoy, and what upsets them
  • Who else is involved: family, doctors or Ontario Health atHome
Common Questions

Questions about getting started

How quickly can care start?

Often within a few days of your consultation, and sometimes sooner. If you need help urgently, for example for a hospital discharge, call us at (226) 506-7013 and we'll tell you straight away what we can arrange.

How much does home care cost?

It depends on the type of care and how many hours you need. At your free consultation we'll recommend a care plan and tell you exactly what it will cost before anything starts, with no obligation. Some private insurance plans and Veterans Affairs Canada programs help with the cost of home care, so it's worth checking your coverage.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Care is built around what you need, from a few visits a week to around-the-clock support. We'll confirm visit lengths when we talk, before you commit to anything.

Will we have the same caregiver?

We aim to keep the same caregiver, or a small consistent team, for every client. If a change is needed, we tell you ahead of time and introduce the new caregiver.

Can care increase as needs change?

Yes. Care plans are reviewed as things change, and hours or services can be increased, or reduced, without starting over with a new provider.
