What Dementia Includes
Every care plan is personal. These are the everyday tasks a caregiver can help with.
- A consistent daily routine at home
- The same caregiver, or a small team, wherever possible
- Calm redirection when your family member is anxious or confused
- Activities based on their interests and history
- Help with meals, personal care and medication reminders
- Safety at home, including supervision to reduce wandering
Signs Your Loved One May Benefit
- Your family member is forgetting meals, medications or appointments
- They become anxious or confused in the late afternoon or evening
- You worry about them wandering, or leaving the stove on
- A spouse is caring for them and is exhausted
Support for the whole family
Dementia affects everyone in the house. We share what we notice after visits, so changes in mood, sleep or eating don't go unseen.
When needs grow, care can move from a few hours a week to daily visits or overnight support, without starting over with a new provider.

Dementia: Common Questions
My dad refuses help. What can you do?
This is very common. We often introduce the caregiver as a friend or helper rather than as "care", start with short visits built around something your dad enjoys, and build trust from there. We'll talk through an approach with you first.
Can you help with sundowning at night?
Yes. Evening and overnight visits can keep things calm during the hours that are hardest, and give the rest of the household a chance to sleep.
How quickly can care start?
Often within a few days of your consultation, and sometimes sooner. If you need help urgently, for example for a hospital discharge, call us at (226) 506-7013 and we'll tell you straight away what we can arrange.
How much does home care cost?
It depends on the type of care and how many hours you need. At your free consultation we'll recommend a care plan and tell you exactly what it will cost before anything starts, with no obligation. Some private insurance plans and Veterans Affairs Canada programs help with the cost of home care, so it's worth checking your coverage.
Will we have the same caregiver?
We aim to keep the same caregiver, or a small consistent team, for every client. If a change is needed, we tell you ahead of time and introduce the new caregiver.
